Last Post for 2013

Well this will be my last post for 2013.
I am only a new blogger, but have enjoyed blogging.
I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by, and wish you a safe and happy 2014, may it be filled with love,  health and happiness and lots of stitching.
Here are photos of two trees that lost limbs in the big storm a couple of days ago. The wind was fairly roaring,  and the limbs snapped off with a mighty crash, thankfully,  only the fence was slightly bent.

Oh and a bag of fabric from Sun City.
I am truly blessed.
Huge warm Christmas hugs to Grace.

Tommy Is On The Run

Last night had a bit of a storm, it gave us 36mm, what an excellent Christmas present. Only drawback was the fences across the creek, that hold the horses in, got washed away.

December eeeekk

Oh boy, December has pounced rather quickly, one day I have lots of time to complete sewing for Christmas,  now only a few days to make finishing stitches, and mail away.

These shorts are for my grand sons, this was a practice run, as I have a hunch they may not fit :( . It is difficult to see for the little fellows when I live so far away.

Cattle

This is a photo of the cattle digging into lick. We dropped it off to them the other day, and boy were they excited.

Funny thing is when you drive by, they get excited, thinking more lick, but alas, not every trip is to drop off lick.

Sewing, Sewing and Other Things

It is a busy time of year, and a fun time as well.

Have been busy sewing, knitting and the like for family, and various swaps I am in, so unable to post any photos at the moment.

We had 0.5mm of rain the day before yesterday ...., not enough to wet anything, but the smell of the rain was nice, though short lived.  Clouds are still hanging around, but do not think they will be delivering any precipitation.

Oh, well had better go back and do some more bits and pieces.

Thank you for taking time to stop by.

Adding Buttons to Side bar and other happenings

I have been tearing my hair out, trying to add buttons/gadgets of whatever they are called to the side bar, these are swaps and things I have joined, first of all let me apologise if the url link is not added, not sure how to add it, but when I get days off again I shall attempt to put the owner's url link in - I hope this makes sense, I am not very techno savvy.

Oh I wish I could say what I have been doing and add photos, but alas, these will have to wait until after Christmas, if you know what I mean.  I just have to remember to take photos of all the bits and bobs and things I have been sewing/crafting.

Anyway, I had better turn off the computer, and do a little sewing before I have to head off to work, today i have to leave home about 11.30 for a 13.00 start as I have a few chores to do in town, main one is to go and get some of those water ice blocks/slippery sams things for the other half, he devours them when he gets home from a day out in the paddock.

Thank you for taking time to stop by.

Wating at Townsville airport

This is what I did over the weekend, among  other things ..... cut out 900 plus 2 inch charms for a Portage Stamp Square swap that is open for registration, this is the third or fourth one I am participating in, they are lots of fun. If interested hop on over to "The Curious Quilter".

Next exciting news is, we ha a storm yesterday afternoon, no rain to speak of :(, lots of thunder,  terrified dogs, oh but the smell of the rain on the dust was nice.

I also worked a little on the golly wog quilt,  for my daughter, this quilt is  a major WIP, been at it for probably 8 years.   Here is my little helper Poppy, making sure I place the corner golly wogs correctly.

Triplets

Well not really triplets ..... things come in three's.
This weekend was one of those occasions for me :(
First up, Saturday,  my shoe broke at the beginning of shift, I did some fancy work with suturing thread, so far it is hoding together nicely.
Later that night when I was sleeping, Poppy my Jack Russell puppy, somehow got hold of my glasses and had a nice chew of the bits that go behind my ears, but I filed them with an emery board and they are sort of ok.
Sunday afternoon,  I forgot and left the back tail gate of my car up, drove through the carport and ripped off the windscreen wiper.

Sorry for the whinge,  but I needed to vent.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Bats in the lounge room

Here I am, stitching my stitchery, when I hear this fluttering sort of sound on the enclosed back verandah.
Getting up to investigate the sound, a bat, yes a bat meets me in the doorway, eeeek, I am terrified of flying things.
It decided to land on a picture frame.
Anyway I turned off the lights and it flew outside, now the doors are closed :

Christmas in July Swap

This is the lovely "Christmas In July Swap" parcel that I recieved from snorts. The parcel arrived a couple of weeks ago, but have had internet issues (again), joys of bush living. The parcel contained some cider mix, a Christmas soap, two beautiful hand made wash clothes, a ball of red sparkly yarn, a ball of red, white and green cotton yarn, some Christmas gift tags, a nail file, I hope I have remembered everything, if not cast your eyes on the photo below :-)
There was Christmas candle, some hand cream, so many lovely things.
A big hug and thank you to snorts (Linda).
